Horror on the Orient Express New Edition – Calling it Epic Doesn’t Do It Justice
About two years after concluding its Kickstarter campaign, the new edition of Chaosium’s Horror on the Orient Express arrived on my doorstep with a resounding *thud* this weekend. The wait was worth it. This thing is a huge, sprawling, 1,000+ page campaign that bulges the 3″ box it comes in.
I don’t talk much about RPGs here on Games From the Front. Honestly, I don’t get much of a chance to play. The other gamers I know nowadays don’t really play (being more focused on wargames and Euros) and the set up time for running a RPG the way I would want to run it dwarfs many of my wargames.
Nonetheless, I do have a soft spot for RPGs and Call of Cthulhu in particular. I get to play CoC about once a year usually at GenCon with the MU Skulls. It is usually a highlight of my gaming year, but that is really about it when it comes to RPGs.
I keep buying CoC material though and the Horror on the Orient Express Kickstarter ended up being quite a treat. Who knows if I will ever get to run it? Delivery for the other CoC Kickstarter for the 7th Edition ruleset is around the corner . Now I have a nice little CoC collection.
