    Hi Ty,
Since you enjoy LnL Tactical, I’m curious whether you have and have played Heroes of North Africa.

One of my gaming goals in 2018 is to play GTS No Question of Surrender and use it as a campaign level, then play out the more interesting tactical situations it generates using LnLT HoNA. Best of both worlds, don’t you think?

      Hi Gina
I have HoNA but haven’t played it yet. Been spending most of my LnLT time on Normandy and Red Start so far. Lots to get through.

Like your idea, ambitious as it is. LnLT and GTS . . . what’s not to like? One thing I would consider it making custom maps scaled down from the GTS maps. I’m not sure the geomorphic maps from LnLT would cut it for me for what you have in mind. Good luck!

Good suggestion and yes — since I play in VASSAL I find it it fairly easy to mod my own hexmaps on the fly (basing it on a GTS map, historical map, and/or Google Earth) and insert them into LnL as VASSAL extensions. That way, one can play LnL on real terrain and not be bound by the geomorphic ones.

That’s a pretty kool skill. I’d don’t have that kind of VASSAL-fu. I’d like to see it in action sometime.

I’ll try and post an AAR on BGG or the LnL site showing how I do it, using the campaign I’m playing now: Operation Mars using GD’42 for the campaign (Gamers TCS), and LnL Heroes of the Motherland for the tactical level. The campaign has just generated its first battle that looks LnL-worthy.
